After packing up “Black Beauty,” we made one last stop in Hayden Valley. We were treated to seeing 4 wolves including the white alpha female. She was absolutely beautiful. With that, we got in the car as a very happy family, seeing a black bear, grizzly bears, wolves, bison, an eagle, marmots, elk, pronghorn, deer, coyotes, osprey, chipmunks, and squirrels. We drove out through the east entrance, which was another first for us. It was very beautiful, and we were so glad we finally had a chance to see it. From there, we drove to Colorado Springs for our stay at the Academy Hotel. Zach was so happy to get to go swimming in the pool, and then soaked in the outdoor hot tub for a bit.
Day 10:
We always stay at the Academy Hotel on our stops in Colorado partly because of their awesome free breakfast. I love the fresh Belgian waffles with strawberries and the heavy whipped cream topping. YUM!! Glenn loves the omelet station where a chef prepares cook to order omelets for you. They also have scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, cereal, coffee, juice, milk, yogurt, etc… It is so yummy!!
After our bellies were full, we hit to road and made our way back to Texas. We truly enjoyed our Yellowstone Adventure!!
